Kennel Construction Specs
Many sizes and options are available. Base pricing for kennels follows the base pricing for our basic or deluxe cottages. We use high quality dog-run panels and pet doors.
Basic Dog Kennels:
- pressure treated 4×4 skids
- pressure treated 2×4 floor framing at 12″ on center for extra strength
- 5/8″ treated plywood flooring (or untreated BCX if you prefer)
- 2×4 wall framing, with studs spaced at 16″ on center and with a double top plate, with 6′ wall height for gable roof buildings and 4′ sidewall height for gambrel roofed buildings
- 1/2″ DuraTemp premium siding, primed and painted to your choice of color
- 2×4 rafters, spaced at 24″ on center, with OSB sheathing
- 5/12 roof pitch with 4″ overhang, and aluminum drip edge
- 29 ga Tuf Rib Panel Steel Roof (finished either smooth or textured with 20 colors to choose from)(40 yr Paint)
- one heavy duty 32″ door, with black decorative hinges and T-handle door latch with key and one 24×27 single hung steel window with screen
- screened aluminum vents on each gable end wall
- pressure treated pine corner and door trim
Deluxe Dog Kennels
Deluxe Kennels include all the features of the basic kennels with the following upgrades:
- 7′ wall height, instead of 6′ wall height
- the Deluxe Roof, a more aesthetically pleasing roof (with a house-like look and superior ventilation), including a 12″ overhang on eaves and gable ends, custom roof pitch (5/12 0r 6/12; we can match the pitch of your house), full vent strips under the eaves, ridge vent, lp smart-side fascia (primed and painted), lp smart-side soffit (primed and painted), and 29 ga Tuf Rib Steel Panel Roof (40 yr Paint)
Dog Kennel Prices
Kennel prices follow the same price schedule as our sheds and barns.
Adjustments to the base price are made according to the options and upgrades you select. For a specific price quote based on your kennel design, please contact us either in Wisconsin or Pennsylvania.

Dog Doors
Dog and other pet doors come in a great variety of sizes, qualities, and prices. We will frame and install any door you select. Our standard doors are Pet Safe doors.
