Our sheds and barns come in two styles: Basic and Deluxe.
BASIC Shed or Barn Construction Specs:
- pressure treated 4×6 skids
- pressure treated 2×4 floor joists spaced at 12″ on center and notched 1.5″ into skids, for extra strength
- 5/8″ tongue and groove premium Performax flooring, with attractive and durable MDO finish
- 2×4 wall framing, with studs spaced at 16″ on center and with a double top plate, with 6′ sidewall height for gable roof buildings and 5′ sidewall height for gambrel (barn) roof buildings
- 1/2″ DuraTemp premium siding (50 year warranty), primed and painted to your choice of color (OSB sheathing is installed for maintenance-free steel sided and vinyl sided sheds and barns)
- Miratec trim (will not rot or warp), painted to your choice of color
- Heavy-duty double 30″ wood framed swing out doors (57″ total opening with door jam material included), with three black decorative hinges for each door and a T-handle door latch with key.
- 2×4 trusses spaced at 24″ on center, with OSB sheathing, and a 5/12 roof pitch (steeper roof pitches available for an upgrade).
- Choice of steel roof with steel trim, ridge vent, and drip edge (heavy 29 gauge with 40 year paint, 24 colors to choose from), or 35 year self-sealing fiberglass shingles with aluminum drip edge, and ridge vent along entire roof.
DELUXE Shed or Barn Construction Specs
A deluxe upgrade package is available for any size of cottage. The deluxe upgrade includes all of the specs for the Basic Sheds or Barns, with the following upgrades:
- 12″ higher sidewalls (7′ sidewalls for sheds and 6′ sidewalls for barns)
- the Deluxe Roof, a more aesthetically pleasing roof (with a house-like look and superior ventilation), including a 12″ overhang on eaves and gable ends, vented Smartside soffit, ridge vent, choice of Miratec or cedar fascia (stained or painted), and choice of either steel roof or shingles.
If you are planning on working in or spending any significant time in your building, or insulating the roof at some point, we highly recommend that you select a Deluxe model.

The prices below are for Wood Sided Sheds and Barns.
Maintenance-Free Steel Sided or Vinyl Sided Upgrade: add 20% to the price of the shed or barn.
Maintenance-Free Smartside Sided Lap Siding Upgrade: add 32% to the price of the shed or barn.
Maintenance-Free Fiber Cement Sided Lap Siding Upgrade: add 37% to the price of the shed or barn.
